Professionally Trained Counsellors

Established in 2012 as a partnership of counsellors who shared a Christian background and work experience in the voluntary sector, Stepping Stones Counselling is a private practice of experienced and highly qualified counsellors.

Our counsellors provide a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment where you can take those important steps towards healing, growth and good mental health.

Our Therapists

We provide professional counselling for individuals, couples and young people from aged 16 years, for a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, stress, spiritual issues, relationships, loss and bereavement, abuse and trauma.

We are Registered Members with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and are Accredited or working towards accreditation.

Our counsellors are available for face to face counselling in Eastleigh, Southampton and Horndean, and also online/video or telephone counselling – See contact page for more details.

Christine is an experienced Registered and Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor trained to work with many different situations, including depression, bereavement, anxiety, workplace stress, emotional issues and relationship difficulties. She provides a safe place for adults and couples to explore step by step issues that may sometimes seem overwhelming and confusing. Christine has also completed training with the Infant Loss Foundation and is an accredited professional on the Infant Loss Foundation register. Christine is also one of the founder partners of Stepping Stones Counselling.

She can offer both short and long term therapy. Supervision also available for counsellors. Christine offers face to face sessions in Southampton (Bitterne) and Eastleigh and also via video/online.

Karen is an experienced Registered and Accredited counsellor who is able to work with a wide range of issues including: anxiety, depression, stress management and work related issues, bereavement and loss, life changes and transitions, emotional and relational issues.  Karen is one of the founder partner of Stepping Stones Counselling.

Karen offers a safe, supportive and confidential space in which working at you own pace you can take steps to explore your thoughts and feelings concerning past and present issues. Karen helps you to gain understanding, find resolution and a way to move forward.

Karen offers a variety of approaches within her work and offers short term, time-limited and long term face- to-face counselling according to your needs. Karen works with students, individiuals and couples.

Karen offers face to face sessions in Horndean (Waterlooville) and Eastleigh and online video/telephone counselling.

B.A. (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling,  Dip. Therapeutic Counselling (Humanistic/Gestalt), B.Ed, Advanced Certificate in Relationship Therapy, Level 1 Introduction to Focusing, Reg.MBACP (Accred), ACC,  HACP 
 

Ruth is an experienced Counsellor and Counselling Supervisor. She has worked in HE and FE, Bereavement Support,  general counselling settings and with survivors of sexual abuse.

Her aims as a counsellor are to facilitate growth and understanding by creating an acceptant and safe space where anything can be explored and where feelings can be heard. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, bereavement, workplace issues, stress, bullying, sexual abuse, spiritual questioning and is open hear to whatever needs to be said in the confidentiality of the counselling relationship.

Ruth also offers Supervision to counsellors and has experience with both individuals and groups.

Karen is a Registered Counsellor who is able to work with a range of issues including addiction, abuse, depression and low self-esteem.

As a Gestalt therapist she is able to adapt to your individual needs valuing your uniqueness. Karen will help raise awareness to what is significant and important to you at present. Through listening and seeking to understand your experiences she will help support you to explore your feelings, make connections and address unresolved issues.

Most importantly Karen will provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment for you to be heard, where she will walk your journey with you throughout all sessions while building a trusting and caring relationship.
